By 2003 I was very involved (on the web) with the Emerging / Emergent / House Church scene. Big influences at that time included Brian McLaren and the book “So you don’t want to go to church anymore” by Jake Colson. I subsequently read “The Shack” when it was first published privately in 2007.
I seem to have learned so much about why people believe what they believe, often as a result of divisive, denominational theology.
I came to the conclusion several years ago that it would be helpful for some of us (especially those who have never had any formal theological training) if we could explore the meaning and significance of the Christian faith by sharing our individual JOURNEYS of LIFE within SAFE HAVENS concentrating not on what we believe, but how what we believe affects our understanding of the purpose of life. See “Mind Maps – What is Life?”. This was the foundation of an earlier blog based on Newsgroup discussions over a period of some 8 years.
